The Core Advantages

What Working with Us Looks Like

Malaysian Legal Expertise

Our team is trained in Malaysian commercial law and holds current Bar Council membership. All work reflects the specific requirements of the Contracts Act 1950 and applicable sector regulations.

Structured Engagement Process

Each engagement follows a defined sequence: briefing, drafting or analysis, internal review, and delivery with a summary. Clients always know where things stand and what comes next.

Document Integrity at Every Stage

We use version-controlled drafting workflows and track all changes across revision rounds, ensuring that nothing is lost between drafts and the final document reflects your intent accurately.

Clear, Accessible Communication

We write and explain in plain language wherever possible. Our goal is for clients to understand the agreements we prepare — not just receive them.

Commercially Oriented Output

Contracts are not drafted in isolation from commercial reality. We account for practical enforceability, the counterparty's likely reading, and what your business actually needs when things do not go to plan.

Transparent, Defined Fees

All services are offered at fixed or defined retainer rates with no ambiguity around scope. You will know the cost and what it covers before any work begins.

Professional Expertise You Can Verify

Every member of our advisory team is a practising Malaysian lawyer with substantive experience in commercial contract work. We do not assign engagements to junior staff without oversight, and the counsel you deal with at the start of an engagement remains involved through to delivery.

  • Malaysian Bar Council membership, current and verified
  • Industry-specific contract experience across multiple sectors
  • Dedicated point of contact throughout each engagement

A Process That Removes Uncertainty

Many businesses are uncertain about what to expect from a legal engagement — how long it takes, what they need to provide, and how decisions get made along the way. We address this by following a documented engagement sequence that covers briefing, drafting, review, and delivery with clear milestones and defined timelines for each stage.

  • Defined timelines stated at engagement start
  • Structured briefing session before any drafting begins
  • Progress updates at each stage without you needing to follow up

Communication That Respects Your Time

Legal documents can be dense. We do not expect clients to absorb complex clauses without context. At each delivery stage, we include an explanatory note covering the key decisions made, the alternatives considered, and the areas that may need your input or commercial judgment. This approach respects your time and keeps decision-making with the people who understand the business.

  • Plain-language delivery notes with each draft
  • Explanation of key clauses and why they were drafted that way
  • Response to questions within one business day

Fees That Are Defined Before You Commit

Our three service offerings are priced transparently. There are no ambiguous hourly rates that make it difficult to anticipate cost, and no scope creep into billable territory without prior discussion. The Commercial Contract Drafting service is a fixed fee of RM 680. The Contract Audit service is RM 1,700. The Negotiation Advisory Retainer is RM 3,200 per month.

  • Published fixed fees for all three services
  • No surprise charges outside agreed scope
  • Retainer hours roll over — you pay for what you use

What Sets Us Apart

Distinctive Features of Our Practice

Contracts Act 1950 Alignment as Standard

Unlike firms that apply template agreements with minimal local adaptation, every document we prepare is reviewed for compliance with Malaysia's principal contract legislation. This is not an optional add-on — it is the baseline for all our work.

Rollover Hours in the Retainer

Our Advisory Retainer does not reset unused hours at month end. If your negotiation activity is lower in a given month, the balance carries forward — meaning the retainer reflects actual workload rather than a flat subscription.

Risk Heat Map Included in Audit

The output of our Contract Audit service is not a list of issues — it is an actionable document that sequences remediation by commercial priority. The heat map format allows in-house teams to direct attention where it matters most.

Briefing-First Approach to All Drafting

We do not begin drafting until we have conducted a structured briefing session. This conversation shapes every substantive drafting decision and means the final document reflects your commercial situation rather than an approximation of it.
